What do you do if you’re someone that cleans her home, makes a minimal effort to live green, is conscious of the health effects produced by the products they use, is perhaps at least somewhat hyperaware that the price of household cleaners is ridiculous and is into homeopathy?
The answer is you become a devotee of nature’s tools.
Lemon, vinegar and baking soda all occur naturally and are cheaper than their commercial equivalent. These ingredients Mother Nature so thoughtfully provided all individually have antimicrobial properties, medicinal uses and culinary applications. They’re super tools in life.
For those who don’t already know, you could potentially substitute all of the harsh household cleaners with much less expensive and healthier alternatives. You could be saving money on medication for those headaches or bouts of acid indigestion. Without rambling on and on about the uses of these three tools I’ll provide you with one use each worthy of the expression “who knew?!”….
who knew?! lemons:
don’t discard those beloved t-shirts that just so happen to need to go because of armpit stains – rub lemon (make sure you really rub it in) on the soiled area and wash. Stains be gone!
who knew?! vinegar:
if you have a car and it has been subjected to cruel windshield ice build up, spray a mix of 3 parts vinegar to 1 part water onto your windshield and for weeks enjoy the extra time you’ll have in the morning.
who knew?! baking soda:
I have a real fear of being diagnosed with breast cancer as my much missed mother had succumbed to it. I do not use store bought deodorants as a preventative measure. I’ve learned from experimentation that a mix of lemon juice and baking soda makes an awesome & powerful deodorant.
Whether you’re on a budget or aspiring to live more green and healthily, I recommend googling ‘possible uses’ of these magical items. It’ll blow your mind, but not your wallet.
If you have a tried & true natural tip or trick – leave it the comment section so everyone can live a better & healthier life!

I have been using these ingredients for about a year now and find they are amazing for everything from oven cleaning and drain opening to making shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste (add your favorite essential oils). Great post!
