Usually I answer a questioned posed, not the reverse, however over the past few months I noticed a disturbing trend in which I have no answer and hoped someone might.
Q: I have been dining in the presence of several different woman from different cities, different backgrounds and not so disparaging incomes. These woman are white, 60s-70s in age, well educated, traveled & mannered. But they all seem to display terrible eating etiquette. All of them talk with their mouths full, use their fingers in lieu of silverware and one of them flossed her teeth in front of me while she was driving! I know these women would be quick to correct a child’s table manners if warranted. I also believe that these women are completely oblivious to their offensive and impolite actions. I am just sort of shocked, surprised and sickened by the proliferation of substandard social graces.
What do you think is the cause of this poor protocol?
A:
Telling it like it is.
