Do you live to eat or do you eat to live? Clearly I am a staunch card carrying member of the former, although at times – like after my recent trip to Austin, Texas, I wish I was affiliated with the latter.
The food was fresh, fun and clearly photogenic. From gobbling gourmet donuts from Gordough’s airstream food truck to walking 500 miles for a ‘damn good taco’ at Torchy’s, the parade of food into my mouth was non-stop. Although impressively enough, I ate sensibly (for me, not an average, normal non-food obsessed person) mostly because I wanted to ensure I sample every suggested culinary entity that encompasses the Austin experience.
Although there weren’t enough days and I didn’t pack any expandable waist pants, I do feel (literally, I think I gained 4lbs in 4 days) that I didn’t miss any opportunities to taste what it means to be a Texan.
Now, I need to start a serious salted meat detox…
xxoo.

You might have not supposed to do so, however I think you have got managed to specific the state of mind that lots of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is one thing a lot of us are going through.
